The Brand Origin and Heritage
TANAMERA'S journey is deeply rooted in tradition and family legacy.
The brand was founded in 1995 by three siblings— Faridah,
Fauziah, and Faisal —who came together to create the
TANAMERA brand, inspired by their late mother, Puan Hajjah
Fatimah Bt Sheikh Salleh.
Puan Fatimah inherited a wealth of knowledge in the
traditional art of Malay health and beauty treatments from her
aunt-in-law, who was one of the midwife of a Royal Family.
Seeking to expand her expertise, Puan Fatimah traveled to
Indonesia, where she studied beauty rituals using natural
herbs under Ibu Marta, the founder of Sari Ayu, Indonesia’s
renowned beauty school.
Upon returning, she established Fati Ayu, her own salon,
where she made Jamu—a traditional herbal concoction
and developed some spa products, blending generations
of wisdom with her newfound knowledge. These
formulations became the foundation of the Tanamera
range—natural products rich in tropical elements with
centuries of healing tradition.
A notable example is the Tanamera Herbal Massage Oil,
which was inspired by Hajjah Fatimah’s family formulation
from Yemen. Instead of using traditional camel fat for its
warming effect, she innovatively incorporated herbs with
natural warming properties, staying true to TANAMERA’s
roots in tropical and natural healing.
TANAMERA began as a passion project of Pn. Fatimah, but it blossomed and grew because of the dreams and ambitions of her three children.
Their vision was to share the warmth and wisdom of traditional treatments, making them more accessible and meaningful for everyone.
Today, TANAMERA continues to honor this legacy by preserving the rich traditions of tropical healing, while providing natural wellness solutions to the modern world.
